00:00:00.140 --> 00:00:01.102
Hey, what is up?
00:00:01.102 --> 00:00:04.331
Welcome to this episode of the Wantrepreneur to Entrepreneur podcast.
00:00:04.331 --> 00:00:11.942
As always, I'm your host, brian LoFermento, and here in the new year, there is one very important thing that we cannot ignore.
00:00:11.942 --> 00:00:31.286
We all want to grow a business, we all want to be happy, but we also all want to be healthy, and I recently heard a quote that said something along the lines of when you're healthy, you can have many problems, but when you're unhealthy, there's only one problem in your life, and so it's so important for us to confront that, and that's why we've got an incredible guest here today.
00:00:31.286 --> 00:00:32.831
She is also one of us.
00:00:32.871 --> 00:00:44.470
This is a fellow entrepreneur that has gone so deep into important and meaningful work surrounding holistic health, and, if you've heard that term before, we're going to go deeper into what is holistic health really.
00:00:44.470 --> 00:00:46.354
So let me tell you all about today's guest.
00:00:46.354 --> 00:00:47.805
Her name is Yolanda Trevino.
00:00:47.805 --> 00:00:51.009
Yolanda is a certified holistic health practitioner.
00:00:51.009 --> 00:00:55.432
She's a life coach and she's the founder of Evolutionary Body System.
00:00:55.432 --> 00:01:04.808
Drawing from her journey of overcoming trauma and rebuilding her life, yolanda has created transformative programs and resources that inspire meaningful change.
00:01:04.808 --> 00:01:12.332
In addition to her work in holistic wellness, she's a multi-business owner, including micro hair aesthetics and eye luscious lashes.
00:01:12.332 --> 00:01:22.989
She's the author of the Evolutionary Plate, from Taste to Transformation and other works, including Lessons Learned at 40, and Cultivating Mindfulness, self-awareness and Growth.
00:01:22.989 --> 00:01:32.186
Through her writing and her courses, yolanda empowers individuals to reconnect with their bodies and minds, achieving sustainable well-being.
00:01:32.206 --> 00:01:44.126
So we've been very intentional in the timing of this episode, because this is a pivotal moment for us to start making choices and making decisions and, importantly, taking action, and that's why I'm so very excited about this one.
00:01:44.126 --> 00:01:45.471
So I'm not going to say anything else.
00:01:45.471 --> 00:01:48.590
Let's dive straight into my interview with Yolanda Trevino.
00:01:48.590 --> 00:01:55.531
All right, yolanda, I am so very excited that you're here with us today.
00:01:55.531 --> 00:01:57.444
First things first, welcome to the show.
00:01:57.444 --> 00:01:59.709
Thanks, brian, glad to be here.
00:01:59.709 --> 00:02:07.927
Heck, yes, a new year is upon us just having happened happened, and I'm so excited that it's you that we're bringing the new year in with.
00:02:07.927 --> 00:02:11.509
So, yolanda, to kick things off, you've got to take us beyond the bio.
00:02:11.509 --> 00:02:15.629
It sounds like there's so much behind the scenes that led to the cool stuff you're doing today.
00:02:15.629 --> 00:02:16.712
So who's Yolanda?
00:02:16.712 --> 00:02:18.444
How'd you start getting into all this stuff?
00:02:19.367 --> 00:02:20.050
Thanks, brian.
00:02:20.050 --> 00:02:27.243
Well, I'm Yolanda Trevino Thank you for the intro and I'm a holistic wellness expert.
00:02:27.243 --> 00:02:30.274
I'm an entrepreneur and my latest business is Evolutionary Body System.
00:02:30.274 --> 00:02:41.084
That encompasses a host of different tools and programs, courses and books, as well as advice, just to help a person with their personal growth and healing.
00:02:41.084 --> 00:02:52.572
I come from a background where I've had an overwhelming journey to heal from personal traumas, and it was through that that evolutionary body system was born.
00:02:52.572 --> 00:03:17.251
I have put a lot of time and effort behind putting out advice and books and creating my course, which also helps people to overcome adversity and venture into personal growth and detach from things that have harmed them and learn to just move on with their life instead of ruminating and staying stuck in the past and keeping themselves behind.
00:03:17.251 --> 00:03:33.432
Because I felt that way once and I created this course to help people learn how to build resiliency, discipline, understand self-care, what that means, understand how to cultivate a life that they feel good about.
00:03:33.432 --> 00:03:37.929
And you know, no matter where you start, no matter your age, you can always start over.
00:03:37.929 --> 00:03:39.012
It's never over.
00:03:40.061 --> 00:03:43.349
Yeah, yolanda, I love that overview because right there you already teased.
00:03:43.349 --> 00:03:51.070
I mean, here we are talking about health and wellness and a lot of people think that that automatically just means you know what we eat or exercise.
00:03:51.070 --> 00:03:52.218
People just think it's that.
00:03:52.218 --> 00:04:00.021
But even in that initial overview, you're talking about life, you're talking about mentality, you're talking about mindset, you're talking about so many of the important things.
00:04:00.021 --> 00:04:06.449
So I want to kick things off there, because it is a term that is thrown around quite frequently in every industry is holistic.
00:04:06.449 --> 00:04:09.733
You know, holistic business development, holistic health and wellness.
00:04:09.733 --> 00:04:12.575
What does holistic health mean to you?
00:04:12.575 --> 00:04:16.901
Why is that?
00:04:16.961 --> 00:04:18.322
a key cornerstone of the work that you do with people.
00:04:18.322 --> 00:04:27.831
Holistic health means finding your center, being in tune with who you are and going with who you are on a natural scale.
00:04:27.831 --> 00:04:32.656
It's not about following somebody else's blueprint per se and then just copying that.
00:04:32.656 --> 00:04:40.730
You have to learn the tools and techniques to become centered within yourself and learn to grow from there.
00:04:40.730 --> 00:04:46.750
It's a natural aspect being in tune with life, going deeper into your consciousness and really understanding who you are.
00:04:46.750 --> 00:04:55.367
And so, from a holistic perspective, there's a lot of natural modalities, tools, techniques that help you to grow in that way.
00:04:55.367 --> 00:04:57.548
So it's not about medicine.
00:04:57.548 --> 00:05:00.267
Food is medicine, so there's that.
00:05:00.267 --> 00:05:02.060
But it's not about medication.
00:05:02.060 --> 00:05:07.442
It's not about necessarily even just going to therapy and you know.
00:05:07.442 --> 00:05:11.692
It's really about getting centered and finding out who you are.
00:05:12.581 --> 00:05:20.591
Yeah, and, importantly, when I hear you talk about these things, I mean you're touching on all aspects which obviously at the root of holistic is whole.
00:05:20.591 --> 00:05:22.062
It is that whole picture.
00:05:22.062 --> 00:05:28.547
So I would imagine, from the outside, looking in that step one is to paint that picture to understand our current state.
00:05:28.547 --> 00:05:35.531
Yolanda, when you kick things off with people and they I like the fact that you already pointed out people can start at any given point.
00:05:35.531 --> 00:05:46.333
You could be in the worst shape I'm going to use shape, but obviously I mean that holistically, you could be in the worst shape of your life or you could be in the best shape of your life and there's always work to be done to get even better.
00:05:46.333 --> 00:05:53.790
So how do you start in painting the initial picture, figuring out what is that, or starting base that we're starting with?
00:05:53.790 --> 00:05:54.891
What do you look at?
00:05:54.891 --> 00:05:58.288
Is it life, finances, wellness, mentality?
00:05:58.670 --> 00:06:07.305
I'd love to hear how you even begin that journey you know it really does start with your mentality, because everybody's going to have their own journey about what has brought them down.
00:06:07.305 --> 00:06:15.415
So it's kind of finding out what that is for you and understanding that you have the capability of growing.
00:06:15.415 --> 00:06:17.702
So it's also offering inspiration.
00:06:17.702 --> 00:06:29.892
All of the other aspects about mindfulness, financial wellness, opportunities in life all of those things sort of naturally come into play when you have like a set blueprint to sort of you know, keep in mind.
00:06:29.892 --> 00:06:38.420
So we start out with understanding your mindset and just kind of figuring out where it is that you want to go in life.
00:06:38.420 --> 00:06:41.569
You know, how far have you gone down, what is your story?
00:06:41.569 --> 00:06:46.161
So when you understand that, you're able to better get in tuned with who you are.
00:06:46.262 --> 00:06:47.725
But that's not easy to unpack.
00:06:47.725 --> 00:06:49.891
So I help people to understand.
00:06:49.891 --> 00:06:52.144
You know there's different steps.
00:06:52.144 --> 00:06:54.812
So in my course, for example, the holistic growth reset.
00:06:54.812 --> 00:07:00.151
There are six weeks there and each week introduces a new aspect into your life.
00:07:00.151 --> 00:07:22.408
So there is the health and wellness aspect, there's the nutrition and the exercise aspect, there is mindfulness and self-care practices, and so when you layer in these different tools and techniques you're better able to grow as a person and it also helps you to detach from anything that has caused you pain and strife in life and you're able to just build resiliency and move on from there.
00:07:23.261 --> 00:07:31.627
Yeah, yolanda, it's fun having this conversation with you on the air, because I know that all of these things, inherently, all of us will hear them and say, well, yeah, that makes sense.
00:07:31.627 --> 00:07:35.382
Yeah, I want to do that work, but of course it's easier said than done.
00:07:35.382 --> 00:07:37.428
Of course it's easy to understand conceptually.
00:07:37.428 --> 00:07:39.380
Talk to us about some of those difficulties.
00:07:39.380 --> 00:07:40.442
What does hold us back?
00:07:40.442 --> 00:07:48.593
Because, let's face it, I want to very clearly and transparently say this at this point in the conversation listeners, all of us are on our own growth journeys.
00:07:48.593 --> 00:07:50.295
We all have those obstacles.
00:07:50.295 --> 00:07:54.531
It's true for myself, it's true for yolanda, it's true for literally every single one of us.
00:07:54.531 --> 00:07:59.151
So, yolanda, with that in mind, what are some of those setbacks that hold us back in doing the work?
00:08:00.360 --> 00:08:12.233
there are a lot of things that keep us back, you know societal conformity, our environment, our friends, the jobs that we take based on what we think are what we're supposed to do.
00:08:12.233 --> 00:08:18.132
And we find ourselves at a certain point in life where we are feeling unfulfilled and unhappy.
00:08:18.132 --> 00:08:25.673
And you know it's important to be happy and to learn how to just move forward with life.
00:08:25.673 --> 00:08:33.951
And the holistic aspect comes where it's in layers, and a lot of people are different where the setbacks just come with.
00:08:33.951 --> 00:08:36.687
Well, let me just talk about my own personal life.
00:08:36.687 --> 00:08:39.379
So I had a traumatic past where I had a bad relationship.
00:08:39.379 --> 00:08:48.485
That's something that can really help bring you all the way down, and so in my work I deal with people who have had situations like that unfold in their life.
00:08:48.485 --> 00:08:50.429
That's a difficult thing to overcome.
00:08:50.429 --> 00:09:00.067
So relationships, expectations that come in life from your parents, from expectations in your job, and those are the types of things that hold you back in life.
00:09:01.039 --> 00:09:07.671
Yeah, yolanda, I really appreciate the vulnerability and the fact that you're sharing that and going there with us here on the air, because I want to go there as well.
00:09:07.671 --> 00:09:11.044
As an entrepreneur, I would argue that all of us face failure.
00:09:11.044 --> 00:09:31.493
All of us face those moments where we do fall down in business, in life, in relationships, in everything and so I think it's important for us to call that out together and I'm super excited to hear your insights here, because you've done the work so much deeper than I personally have and that is what I've found in those moments where I fall and when I reach my own version of rock bottom.
00:09:31.493 --> 00:09:34.261
That's a huge opportunity area.
00:09:34.261 --> 00:09:38.172
I find that things come into focus at that point when everything seems to be lost.
00:09:38.172 --> 00:09:44.873
Talk to us about that pivotal moment and what people view as rock bottom really can be and should be.
00:09:44.873 --> 00:09:49.289
Hopefully today's episode encourages that, the beginning of that climb back up.
00:09:50.432 --> 00:09:50.613
Right.
00:09:50.613 --> 00:09:54.644
So when you recognize that you've hit rock bottom, you know where do you go from there.
00:09:54.644 --> 00:10:01.831
It's difficult to imagine climbing a mountain when you don't have, you know, the tools and the understanding on how to do it and I didn't.
00:10:01.831 --> 00:10:14.072
But it was a slow moving progress and I just started with one thing, and that really was taking hold of my health, and at the time I was really overweight.
00:10:14.460 --> 00:10:25.379
I was almost 80 pounds overweight and my life had just kind of been stagnant for a really long time and I was a struggling entrepreneur at that time and I really couldn't focus on my business.
00:10:25.379 --> 00:10:28.725
I just had a lot of internal turmoil.
00:10:28.725 --> 00:10:46.692
So what I did was I learned to eat better, and it started with one small thing, just changing out all of my food to organic eating, and I learned very slowly to incorporate different things like exercise and walking, and one small change built the momentum.
00:10:46.692 --> 00:11:06.091
So, whether it's starting out with a mindfulness technique or, you know, taking root in your nutritional aspect or exercise or whatever it might be, just start somewhere and build the momentum, because small changes lead to big things.
00:11:06.351 --> 00:11:07.413
we're talking about diet.
00:11:07.413 --> 00:11:11.394
You're introducing the mindset to go along with it, the discipline, the habits.
00:11:11.394 --> 00:11:25.201
Of course, I'll publicly confess I very much have a sweet tooth, yolanda, and so for me it's a question of if I have that available in my house, then that's what I'm going to turn to, whereas if I just have clementines on the table, that's what I'll reach you.
00:11:25.201 --> 00:11:35.933
That's obviously a very simplistic example, but there is that topic of discipline, and I've always loved that quote of discipline is sacrificing what you want now for what you want later.
00:11:35.933 --> 00:11:41.549
Talk to us about that attitude, because here we are talking about changes, changes at the root of our conversation today.
00:11:41.549 --> 00:11:45.005
How can we enact change in a way that sticks?
00:11:45.166 --> 00:11:54.062
because that's what I appreciate about your work yeah, well, you know I have a sweet tooth also, b Brian so it's really hard to not indulge.
00:11:54.062 --> 00:11:57.149
But the good thing is is that there are no bad foods in life.
00:11:57.149 --> 00:11:57.871
There really aren't.
00:11:57.871 --> 00:11:59.865
You just have to learn to take them in moderation.
00:11:59.865 --> 00:12:07.365
So you brought up a good point about swapping out what's on the table for clementines, and that's such a good move.
00:12:07.365 --> 00:12:08.768
But you know.
00:12:08.768 --> 00:12:13.696
But you can learn to eat well and not feel the guilt any longer.
00:12:13.696 --> 00:12:16.528
It's learning to understand your body type.
00:12:16.528 --> 00:12:19.309
It's learning to incorporate small changes.
00:12:20.861 --> 00:12:34.399
I always advocate for going organic because there's a lot of GMO products on the market now and they're really wreaking havoc on the hormonal balance and your health market now and they're really wreaking havoc on the hormonal balance and your health.
00:12:34.399 --> 00:12:38.724
But in order to keep things rooted and to make it stick, it does start with small changes.
00:12:38.724 --> 00:12:53.142
So just making one small aspect a part of your life and, you know, really focusing in on that for one week or one month, that's where you know your personal ability comes into play, because not everybody has the same momentum and the same resiliency.
00:12:53.142 --> 00:12:55.427
So just starting small, very small.
00:12:55.427 --> 00:13:05.423
So I started with one small change, like I'd mentioned, with the eating, and you bring up a good point about there being an all-encompassing aspect to your health, and it's true.
00:13:05.524 --> 00:13:10.663
In order for things to stick, you have to layer in what is missing.
00:13:10.663 --> 00:13:20.400
So a lot of people focus on, for example, losing weight, they focus on just exercise, or they focus mostly on just the nutrition, instead of bringing them both together.
00:13:20.400 --> 00:13:24.611
Or they go fully in and they're doing things that they don't like to do.
00:13:24.611 --> 00:13:27.148
So you're picking exercise that is too difficult.
00:13:27.148 --> 00:13:31.224
You're picking exercises that are, you know, really lengthy in time.
00:13:31.224 --> 00:13:34.585
That is not going to get you to stick to what you need to do.
00:13:34.585 --> 00:13:38.282
So understanding your body type is what I would suggest.
00:13:38.282 --> 00:13:43.980
Understanding what foods are good for your particular body type will help you feel better.
00:13:43.980 --> 00:13:44.604
Instantly.
00:13:44.604 --> 00:13:45.609
You'll notice the change.
00:13:45.609 --> 00:13:51.907
So when you incorporate the small changes, they will help build momentum and help keep you on the straight and narrow for the long term.
00:13:52.509 --> 00:13:58.229
Yeah, I love that point that you made that if we don't enjoy it, of course we're going to stop doing it.
00:13:58.229 --> 00:14:06.019
It's something that I find so frequently in business is that if there's a task that I keep, every time I have to sit down and do it, I face resistance.
00:14:06.019 --> 00:14:09.166
Well then, that's a sign of hey, this isn't for you.
00:14:09.166 --> 00:14:18.029
Either stop doing it or outsource it, or figure out a way around that, because you shouldn't be running into that wall every single day that you want to make forward progress.
00:14:18.029 --> 00:14:28.027
So I love that point from you, yolanda, I wanna ask you about this, because I know that we all have limiting beliefs and yes, excuses inside all of our minds, and one of those could be age.
00:14:28.027 --> 00:14:29.823
I'm gonna throw age out there as an example.
00:14:30.546 --> 00:14:33.812
I found out when I turned 30, yolanda, that all of a sudden I had joints.
00:14:33.812 --> 00:14:50.389
My knees don't cooperate the ways that they used to when I was in my 20s, and so, with that in mind that's something that you know I've caught myself saying, either internally or even out loud, of oh yeah, I can't play tennis on cement anymore because, you know, my knees kill me, and so, for you, it's something that I love.
00:14:50.389 --> 00:14:56.399
I mean, I don't know your age, but what I do know is that you've published lessons learned at 40, for example.
00:14:56.399 --> 00:15:06.246
So talk to us about those limiting beliefs that we all run into, whether it's age, whether it's current status, whether it's workload, and people say I'm too busy, I've got a million things going on at work.
00:15:06.246 --> 00:15:11.028
What are those excuses and how can we actually start calling them out for what they are so we can work through them?
00:15:12.049 --> 00:15:14.274
Well, you touched on already a few.
00:15:14.274 --> 00:15:31.207
We tend to always make excuses about not having enough time in life, and one of the biggest things that I like to point out is we actually time is our greatest commodity, that's, you know, our biggest commodity in life, and we have time so long as we wake up every day.
00:15:31.207 --> 00:15:32.782
We still have time to change.
00:15:32.782 --> 00:15:47.431
And you know, it's just interesting how people will always look at life and say you know, I don't have time for this, I don't have time to, you know, eat right today, I don't have time to exercise, I don't have time to spend time with my kids.
00:15:47.431 --> 00:16:08.432
You know, I got to work, work, work, but at the end of the day you're going to work and you're going to end up dying and looking back at life and saying I regret not taking the time to better my health, to invest in myself, and, you know, open that business or, you know, learn something new about my life, you know, improving in some type of way.
00:16:08.932 --> 00:16:10.562
So there are a lot of excuses in life.
00:16:10.562 --> 00:16:13.350
You know, there's just so many things that people put on the back burner.
00:16:13.350 --> 00:16:16.710
And then you reach a certain age and you look back and you say, wow, where did the time go.
00:16:16.710 --> 00:16:24.961
So I am in my forties and I, you know, I did find myself reaching 40 and I realized, you know, there were things that I felt were left undone.
00:16:24.961 --> 00:16:47.711
I know I had started business, but I didn't feel like I was putting in, you know, 100% into doing that, and there were just other aspects of my life that I felt like all of a sudden I needed to play catch up and I noticed that there were other people, when I talked to you about that, that were saying the same thing that in a blink of an eye you reach middle age and there were things that were left undone.
00:16:52.519 --> 00:16:53.563
So, you know, don't make the excuse, just do it.
00:16:53.563 --> 00:16:54.768
And, you know, make time for yourself.
00:16:54.768 --> 00:17:02.188
You know you are, your time is your precious commodity and you are the only person that gets to say you know what is for you.
00:17:02.188 --> 00:17:13.842
So, put yourself first, invest in yourself, learn new things, get outside and into the sunshine, smell the fresh air and go on vacation and be happy and and rejoice in life, because you only get one shot.
00:17:13.842 --> 00:17:23.470
We could be gone tomorrow and you know, if you fell sick and you weren't going to recover, tell yourself you know, what have I left undone?
00:17:23.470 --> 00:17:25.863
What can I do to make changes today?
00:17:25.863 --> 00:17:28.210
What do I still want to do with my life?
00:17:29.212 --> 00:17:38.444
Yeah, yolanda, I'll tell you what knowing that we're speaking to an entrepreneurial audience which we all love progress, we all love growth, we all love measuring all of these things.
00:17:38.444 --> 00:17:43.248
I want to transition a little bit, because when we talk about the body, there are ways for us to measure that.
00:17:43.248 --> 00:17:48.384
We can measure our weight, we can measure our strength, we can measure a lot of tangible things there.
00:17:48.384 --> 00:17:57.867
But what's a little bit more complex than the body is, of course, the mind, and that's something that it's so much harder for us to measure.
00:17:57.867 --> 00:17:58.530
How do you gauge progress there?
00:17:58.530 --> 00:18:04.934
And I guess, actually, before we even talk about gauging progress there, I want to start with how do we know where it is that we need to work on?
00:18:04.934 --> 00:18:08.663
Because you, for example, you talked about your past traumas from a relationship.
00:18:08.663 --> 00:18:10.286
That's something that you identified.
00:18:10.286 --> 00:18:14.913
What's the work look like for people who don't even have that level of awareness?
00:18:14.913 --> 00:18:22.945
And maybe they know that they're unhappy, maybe they know that they're burned out, maybe they can recognize the symptoms of it, but how do we start getting at that cause?
00:18:24.169 --> 00:18:30.068
So you know you, as I go back to what I had said earlier, you have to layer in different techniques.
00:18:30.068 --> 00:18:31.553
So I go back to my course.
00:18:31.553 --> 00:18:36.932
There's a different aspect per week where you learn holistic techniques and self-care.
00:18:36.932 --> 00:18:38.584
You learn about nutrition, wellness.
00:18:38.584 --> 00:18:41.872
Not everybody is going to know per se where to begin.
00:18:41.872 --> 00:18:46.617
So if you begin somewhere and you just sort of work through all of the aspects, you'll find.
00:18:46.617 --> 00:18:53.252
You'll find enlightenment, you'll start recognizing when you start reflecting back and asking yourself questions about.
00:18:53.661 --> 00:18:55.567
You know, why did I do that?
00:18:55.567 --> 00:19:03.665
And that was one of the aspects in my life that I did for myself, to figure out who I was, why I kept asking okay, so I did these things.
00:19:03.665 --> 00:19:06.613
And I know that I didn't feel good and these were the consequences.
00:19:06.613 --> 00:19:09.903
Why did I do that and where did it come from?
00:19:09.903 --> 00:19:17.641
And I noticed there was a spiral that would occur and I would find myself unpacking and unfolding all the reasons why.
00:19:18.261 --> 00:19:27.231
So you know it's going to be different for everybody, but a holistic healing aspect comes into play where there are different pillars in life.
00:19:27.231 --> 00:19:35.174
You know there's the wellness, the, the nutrition, the financial wellness, the mindfulness.
00:19:35.174 --> 00:19:39.059
There's all of these different pillars in your life that when you bring them all together.
00:19:39.059 --> 00:19:45.367
You start recognizing, you really open up, you become more confident, you raise your vibrational frequency.
00:19:45.367 --> 00:19:49.960
You are now suddenly open to more opportunities.
00:19:49.960 --> 00:19:52.541
You're more creative, you're more ambitious, you're more driven.
00:19:52.541 --> 00:19:56.392
You're more ambitious, you're more driven, you're feeling good, you're putting your health first.
00:19:56.392 --> 00:20:11.092
Suddenly, you notice there's more energy, there's even age regression occurring, and so it's going to be different for everybody in terms of what drives you and where you should start per se.
00:20:11.092 --> 00:20:19.191
But you just need to start somewhere, and then, when you layer in all of the additional pillars to holistic healing, you'll realize a lot about yourself.
00:20:20.000 --> 00:20:32.646
Yes, I love that approach, yolanda, and truly, because you really do with this approach and this mindset, you reward any and all action, because that first boost of action is going to be the catalyst for so much more action.
00:20:32.646 --> 00:20:34.191
So I love that approach.
00:20:34.191 --> 00:20:42.691
Whether we're talking business, or fitness, or health or wellness, or just life in general, action is that key that unlocks so many more things for us.
00:20:42.691 --> 00:20:50.987
You said something in there, yolanda, that it piques my interest, because this is so in line with what I believe in life, and that is vibrational frequency.
00:20:50.987 --> 00:21:00.830
In over a thousand episodes we've never had a guest come on and talk about vibrational frequency, but it's funny because inherently, we've all seen it, maybe without being able to put a name on it.
00:21:00.830 --> 00:21:05.130
We've seen those people that are just vibing real low and everything's terrible.
00:21:05.130 --> 00:21:14.215
Every day they wake up, talk to us about what is vibrational frequency, why is it so important for us to think about, and how the heck can we start vibing a little bit higher, yolanda?
00:21:15.057 --> 00:21:15.378
sure.
00:21:15.378 --> 00:21:17.729
So vibrational frequency there's.
00:21:17.729 --> 00:21:27.082
There's actually energy attached to literally everything your thoughts, the things that you say, emotions, anything that you're touching.
00:21:27.082 --> 00:21:27.865
That's natural.
00:21:27.865 --> 00:21:31.579
It all carries vibrational frequency and we overlook it.
00:21:31.579 --> 00:21:35.291
We don't know much about that, but it's important.
00:21:35.291 --> 00:21:41.993
So like, for example, when you think of something negative and it keeps you stuck in a loop.
00:21:42.295 --> 00:21:44.923
That's a low vibrational mindset.
00:21:45.344 --> 00:21:55.778
So you want to learn ways to raise your vibrational frequency so you can detach from that, and so things that we've been talking about throughout this podcast will help you to raise your vibrational frequency, so you can detach from that, and so things that we've been talking about throughout this podcast will help you to raise your vibrational frequency.
00:21:55.798 --> 00:22:10.911
Implementing holistic practices like eating well so clearing out your diet of processed food and sugars will help you to immediately detoxify your system and help you to raise your vibrational frequency.
00:22:10.911 --> 00:22:19.692
You'll immediately feel better, your brain fog will clear and you will be feeling immediately so much better.
00:22:19.692 --> 00:22:29.826
Additionally, other things that we can do are mindfulness practices like meditation and yoga, getting centered, going within and heightening your intuition.
00:22:29.826 --> 00:22:39.201
Those things help you to raise your vibrational frequency and help you to get centered and tap into your intuitive and your self-consciousness and your consciousness.
00:22:39.201 --> 00:22:53.451
There are other things like exercise that helps you to raise your vibrational frequency, and so when you do that you tend to as I said you tend to, you know it's easier to manifest your desires.
00:22:53.451 --> 00:22:58.926
More opportunities are coming your way, you're feeling good, you're living high on life.
00:23:00.339 --> 00:23:01.685
Yeah, yolanda, I love that.
00:23:01.685 --> 00:23:15.073
I want to call this out because here you and I are in the first week of 2025, having this conversation in front of thousands of people all around the world, and the one thing I want to point out is that inevitably, there will be setbacks in this journey.
00:23:15.073 --> 00:23:17.147
Inevitably, things will go off the rails.
00:23:17.147 --> 00:23:36.109
We can commit to all of these actions that you're sharing with us here today, but there will come a day, or possibly a week, or possibly even a month this year, where we let ourselves down, and so that's why, whenever we see those stats about New Year's resolutions everybody's done with them by like February 2nd I forget what that stat is.
00:23:36.109 --> 00:23:40.669
Yolanda, your work obviously addresses the realities of transformative change.
00:23:40.669 --> 00:23:45.833
Your work addresses here's how you directionally stay where it is that you want to go.
00:23:45.833 --> 00:23:55.527
How do you catch yourself in those moments of falling, of failing, failing, of having that setback, so that you keep going rather than falling into that spiral?
00:23:56.589 --> 00:24:01.717
you know it's important to recognize that failure is a part of life and to not let it keep you down.
00:24:01.717 --> 00:24:06.308
It's okay to, you know, wallow in your sorrows, just don't, don't stay down.
00:24:06.308 --> 00:24:11.816
And when you build momentum and you start creating change in your life, you're going to feel immediately confident, you're gonna recognize that you had momentum and you start creating change in your life.
00:24:11.816 --> 00:24:12.740
You're going to feel immediately confident.
00:24:12.740 --> 00:24:18.707
You're going to recognize that you had it in you all along and you can look back on life and say look how far I've come.
00:24:18.707 --> 00:24:24.112
So you know, change and failure are inevitable, inevitable parts of life.
00:24:24.112 --> 00:24:27.023
You're going to face them regardless and that happens every day.
00:24:27.023 --> 00:24:28.189
In entrepreneurship.
00:24:28.189 --> 00:24:30.808
There's a lot of setbacks, there's a lot of wins.
00:24:30.808 --> 00:24:39.721
So you kind of have to take both together.
00:24:39.721 --> 00:24:49.086
But recognizing that it's a part of life and learning to look back at yourself and say, hey, I'm human, I'm flawed, I recognize my mistakes, I embrace, you, know who I am and just you know, accepting you for you, yeah.
00:24:49.428 --> 00:24:55.929
Yolanda, I joked with you before we hit record here today that time's going to fly by while we're on the air together, and it certainly has.
00:24:55.929 --> 00:25:01.271
But I want to squeeze in a few more questions with you, because I know personally how much work goes into a book.
00:25:01.271 --> 00:25:09.565
So I want to hear your side of the story behind the evolutionary plate, from taste to transformation, and congrats to you on launching that.
00:25:09.565 --> 00:25:11.548
There truly is so much that goes into it.
00:25:11.548 --> 00:25:12.972
So talk to us about that book.
00:25:12.972 --> 00:25:16.769
Where was the idea born from, and what can we find and expect inside that book?
00:25:18.092 --> 00:25:18.752
Thanks, brian.
00:25:18.752 --> 00:25:35.615
So the book is actually a culmination of my own personal journey in fitness and in health, so I decided to write it years ago, but it's just been a years long process in the making and I finally finished it and it really is a good companion to the holistic growth reset course.
00:25:35.615 --> 00:25:38.486
So you get a free book when you join the course.
00:25:38.486 --> 00:25:44.343
What you can expect to find is inside there are over 50 wellness recipes.
00:25:44.343 --> 00:25:55.213
You'll find marinades, different global recipes, sauces, salad dressing, smoothies.
00:25:55.213 --> 00:26:00.747
So if you want to do like a detox, there's going to be smoothie plans in there for that.
00:26:00.747 --> 00:26:07.548
If you want to, if you have a taste for Mediterranean fare, you're definitely going to find that in there.
00:26:08.009 --> 00:26:14.344
So it was really a book really culminated from my own personal journey and experience and it was just.
00:26:14.344 --> 00:26:25.491
It was such a great uh experience to finally get this done and I worked with a wonderful person who was able to format it for me and it just really brought it to life.
00:26:25.491 --> 00:26:28.759
But you can find um meal plans in there.
00:26:28.759 --> 00:26:36.570
So there's a four-week meal plan that you can follow and when you find your, I guide you to finding your body type.
00:26:36.570 --> 00:26:47.798
And when you find your body, you can then implement the workout plan, and so it eases you into health, wellness and fitness, and it's a good compliment to my holistic growth reset course.
00:26:48.605 --> 00:27:05.686
Yes, I love that, and what I really love it seems so in line with our conversation here today, yolanda is that it seems holistically like it fits in with all the amazing things that you do and all the amazing things that your business puts out into the world, so it doesn't surprise me that the book perfectly complements.
00:27:05.686 --> 00:27:15.928
Your course, we're going to be dropping some links on listeners in just a few minutes, but before we get there, the question that I always love to ask at the end of these conversations it's a big and broad one, yolanda.
00:27:15.928 --> 00:27:19.234
You can take it in any direction you want with your entrepreneurial hat on.
00:27:19.234 --> 00:27:29.136
And that is what's your one best piece of advice knowing that we're being listened to by entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs at all different stages of their growth journeys, both business wise, but also personal wise.
00:27:29.136 --> 00:27:33.696
To fit in with what we've talked about here today, what's that one thing that you'd like to impart on them?
00:27:35.086 --> 00:27:37.990
I think it's important to invest in yourself.
00:27:37.990 --> 00:27:44.211
So, whether that means, you know, financially or in self-care, it's so important to put yourself first.
00:27:44.211 --> 00:27:51.695
If you're not well and you're not whole, you're not going to be good to anybody else, and it's such a simple piece of advice we often overlook.
00:27:51.695 --> 00:27:56.516
So when you're on your entrepreneurial journey and you're feeling low, you just keep reminding yourself.
00:27:56.516 --> 00:28:02.134
You know I'm doing this for my greater good, as well as putting out something that I think other people are going to love too.
00:28:02.134 --> 00:28:03.615
But invest in yourself.
00:28:03.615 --> 00:28:08.529
It's such a great way to be fulfilled and to keep yourself going.
00:28:09.231 --> 00:28:17.876
Yes, important advice there, and that's why I don't expect anyone to do an incredible job just from hearing this stuff on a podcast episode.
00:28:17.876 --> 00:28:22.253
It's about doing the work and that's why I so appreciate the fact that you've put your book into the world.
00:28:22.253 --> 00:28:29.628
You've got your course in the world and I know you've got a little bit of a special offer for our listeners here today, which I'm so excited for you to give some more details about that.

00:28:37.070 --> 00:28:38.513

You'll find the links to her course there as well, as well as that important code that she just shared with us VIP350.
00:29:34.825 --> 00:29:37.472
Definitely use that before January 13th.
00:29:37.472 --> 00:29:40.237
So that's why we're airing this episode when we are Otherwise.
00:29:40.237 --> 00:29:45.211
